Bee-Eaters at the Bronx Zoo

I shot this picture of these Bee-eaters at the Bronx Zoo recently when I was out there planning some other cool shots for the zoo. The keepers feed live crickets to these birds by tossing them out into the exhibit and the birds swoop down and snag them. This was one of my favorites from the shoot. I made the shot of the tiger later on the same day.

It's time for New York Jet's football again. John McGraw of the Jets goes airborn over Kurt Warner of the New York Giants during a recent preseason game.

The Belmont Stakes was incredible despite the loss for Smarty Jones. It barely rained and the 115,000 people go to see why it is so hard to win the crown. My buddy Jeff and I are here close to the finish line during one of the undercard races that day.

BEST bod contests for K-ROCK at the Preakness Stakes in the infield. The tough part of the job.

Somebody has to do it...

I constantly submint stock to Nikon when I shoot and two of the images were recently used. The D2H image of the hands on a trumpet came from the 2003 Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita in CA. It was used on the cover of Nikon Capture Magazine. The sunset shot was made with the D70 digital camera in Cayman Brac a few months ago. Click on either image to see them larger

These three photos are up for the covers of the various Nikon Price Lists. The Snow Leopards is my favorite of the group. This is the awesome work of Nikon designer Tracy Putnam.

On a recent trip to the Cayman Islands I had an opportunity to shoot Sharka, a local dog on the island of Cayman Brac. I used the D2H and even fired a few off with the new D70. I was able capture this image, one of my favorites, within the first run the dog made for me. The owner would toss a toy in my direction and I envisioned a shot of the dog coming from head-on. I did get into the water and worked the angle as hard as I could. The D2H was so fast that capturing this and many of the other shots was easy; the tough part was choosing a favorite.
